Valentine’s Day is coming up. Most couples or lovers will rush to popular restaurants where they will inevitably wait in line for hours. Instead of having normal dating, explore some hidden gems to add some spice to your own secret time. As a half-Californian, here are four places that I recommend to opt for instead this Valentine’s Day.
Northern California:
- Mendocino – Cali magical ride and stargazing on moonlight Railbike

By wandering in small towns, along with visiting the European-style wineries and vintage stores, you and your partner can get a rejuvenating and relaxing tour. Also, there’s only a 30-minute drive to Napa Valley, which gives you an open atmosphere to enjoy the breathtaking views on their balloon ride. You can also enjoy hot air ballooning. Southern California:
- Salt-Creek Beach Park – Under-the-radar beach
Where it is: 12 min drive from Laguna Beach
